No prior experience or swimming ability is required! Over 95% of our paddlers are first-timers. We use high-stability ocean-grade sit-on-top kayaks that are virtually impossible to flip over in calm backwater canals. High-buoyancy certified life jackets are mandatory and provided for every guest, and our certified local guide paddles alongside you throughout the tour.

What is the best time for kayaking in Alleppey?

The two prime slots are Sunrise (6:00 AM – 8:30 AM) and Golden Sunset (4:00 PM – 7:00 PM). Early sunrise offers glassy, mirror-calm water, cool breezes, morning mist, blooming pink water lilies, and active birdlife. Golden sunset delivers stunning 360-degree color reflections across the open Vembanad Lake horizon.

What should I wear and what essentials should I bring?

Accepted Answer

Wear comfortable, quick-drying clothing such as light T-shirts, shorts, or track pants, and footwear you don't mind getting damp (flip-flops, water shoes, or sandals). Bring sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat, and your smartphone/camera. We provide 10L waterproof dry bags and phone pouches so your electronics stay bone-dry.

Should I choose a Single Kayak or a Tandem (Double) Kayak?

Single kayaks are lightweight, agile, and perfect for solo travelers, photographers, or anyone who wants full control of their stroke. Tandem kayaks are ideal for couples, parents with a child, or friends who want to share the paddling effort and chat together. You can also mix and match across your group.

Where is the launch point / boarding jetty in Alleppey?

Accepted Answer

Our standard launch point is at the Punnamada Finishing Point / Kuppapuram Canal Jetty in Alleppey — roughly 10 minutes from Alleppey Railway Station and easily accessible by taxi or auto with car parking. Exact Google Maps location and guide contact are shared via WhatsApp upon reservation.

What happens if it rains during our scheduled paddle?

Light Kerala tropical drizzle makes kayaking even more magical and refreshing! However, in the event of heavy thunderstorms or unfavorable weather, we will happily reschedule your slot to a later time or offer a full 100% refund of any advance deposit.

Question 7

How does the advance payment and cancellation work?

Accepted Answer

To lock in your kayaks and dedicated certified guide, we collect a small 25% advance deposit. The remaining 75% balance is payable in person at the jetty when you check in. Free cancellation is available up to 24 hours prior to departure.
