You board at 12:00 PM and are welcomed with a drink. Lunch is served while the boat cruises out through Punnamada and Vembanad Lake, past paddy fields, village canals and coconut groves. Evening tea and snacks follow on deck, and at 5:30 PM the boat anchors for the night by the water. Dinner is served on board. In the morning the boat cruises again from about 8:00 AM, with breakfast on the way, and you are back at the jetty by 9:00 AM.

Check-in is at 12:00 PM and check-out is at 9:00 AM the next morning. From 5:30 PM to 8:00 AM the boat stays anchored. Kerala rules do not allow houseboats to cruise at night, because local fishermen set their nets on the water after dark.

The whole houseboat for your group, with its own 3-member crew: a captain, a chef and an engine driver. All meals are included: welcome drink, lunch, evening tea with snacks, dinner and breakfast. So is drinking water. Every bedroom has an attached bathroom with clean bed linen and towels, and life jackets are kept on board. Not included: pickup and drop to the jetty, special routes such as Kumarakom, and extras like celebration decoration.

Fresh Kerala home cooking, made by your chef in the boat's kitchen. Lunch is rice with fried karimeen (pearl spot fish) and curries. Dinner is chapati with dal, vegetables and a chicken dish. Breakfast is appam, idli, puri or puttu. Vegetarian menus are available, and Premium houseboats can also serve South and North Indian dishes. Tell us about allergies or dietary needs when you book.

Deluxe houseboats have AC in the bedrooms from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Premium houseboats have bedroom AC on demand from check-in to check-out. You can add full-time AC to a Deluxe booking as an upgrade.

The price covers 2 guests per bedroom, and each bedroom can take up to 4. Extra guests are charged per person, and children up to 5 years stay free. Groups can choose a boat with anywhere from 1 to 5 or more bedrooms.

The standard cruise is the Alleppey backwater route across Punnamada Lake, where the Nehru Trophy Boat Race is held, and onto Vembanad Lake, with stretches through village canals and paddy fields. It shows you lakes, canals and village life on one trip. If you want a longer run, such as a Kumarakom round trip, we can arrange it for an extra fee. Just mention it when you book.

October to February is the most comfortable time, with mild days of about 17–32°C. Late December and early January are the busiest weeks, so book well ahead. March to May is hot (up to about 37°C) but quieter. Houseboats run through the monsoon, June to September, too. That is when the backwaters are at their greenest, and cruising only pauses during very heavy rain.

Yes. The boats move slowly on calm inland water, life jackets are on board for every guest, and the crew are experienced local boatmen. The boat is anchored for the whole night. With young children, keep them away from the open deck edges while the boat is moving.

Light cotton clothes, sunglasses, a hat and sunscreen for the deck, mosquito repellent for the evening, and any medicines you need. Bring your ID for check-in. Bedding, towels, meals and drinking water are all provided.

You book your own private bedroom with an attached bathroom, just like a hotel room. Only the living room, dining area and deck are shared. Sharing houseboats are for couples and families. Male-only groups are not accepted, and each boat takes at most one solo male traveller.

Yes. Honeymoon cakes, flower decoration and special requests can be arranged on board for an extra charge. Tell us the occasion when you book so the crew can have everything ready when you arrive.

Yes. Weekend nights and major festivals (Onam, Diwali, Pongal, Vishu and Bakrid) cost more, and peak-season rates apply from 20 December to 5 January. The booking calendar marks special-price dates in red.
