A private houseboat in Alleppey is priced per boat, not per person. One price covers the whole boat for an overnight stay — check-in at 12:00 PM, check-out at 9:00 AM the next morning — with your own captain and chef, and every meal on board from the welcome drink to breakfast.

What changes the price of a houseboat
Number of bedrooms
1 and 2 bedroom houseboats have a fixed price. From 3 bedrooms up, the price grows with each bedroom, so a larger boat usually works out cheaper per couple than two small boats.
Number of guests
Every price includes 2 guests per bedroom. Each bedroom can take up to 4 guests, and extra guests are charged per person. Children up to 5 years stay free.
Your travel dates
Each night is priced on its own date:
- Off season, from mid-June to the end of August, has the lowest prices of the year.
- Weekend nights cost a little more than weekdays.
- Festival dates such as the Pooja holidays and Diwali carry a surcharge.
- The Christmas and New Year peak, from late December to early January, is the most expensive time to book.
The boat you choose
The table shows starting prices. On Deluxe houseboats the bedroom AC runs from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM; Premium houseboats have bedroom AC on demand from check-in to check-out, upgraded interiors and a wider choice of meals. Special routes, such as a Kumarakom round trip, are available for an extra fee.
Private or sharing houseboat?
A private houseboat is yours alone. If you are a couple or a small family on a budget, a sharing houseboat lets you book just your own private bedroom on a shared premium boat, like a hotel room, which keeps the price down.
