Each bedroom holds up to 4 guests. The boat price includes 2 per bedroom; each guest beyond that is ₹750. Children up to 5 stay free. Weekends add 10% to the boat price.
More bedrooms or more extra guests?
The cheapest option packs four guests into each bedroom. That suits friends who are happy to share. If your group wants two to a room, the price moves up to the next boat size:
- 6 guests, two per room: a 3-bedroom boat at ₹18,000, or ₹3,000 each
- 8 guests, two per room: a 4-bedroom boat at ₹24,000, or ₹3,000 each
- 10 guests, two per room: a 5-bedroom boat at ₹30,000, or ₹3,000 each
A middle path often works best for families travelling together: for 10 guests, a 4-bedroom boat with 2 extra guests is ₹25,500, which gives most people a room shared by two.
Deluxe or Premium for a group
On a Deluxe boat the bedroom AC runs at night, from about 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM. For a group that spends the afternoon on deck, that is often enough. A Premium boat adds full-time bedroom AC, upgraded interiors and a wider menu with karimeen fry at lunch, for a flat ₹5,000 a night on a 3-bedroom boat, ₹6,000 on a 4-bedroom and ₹7,000 on a 5-bedroom. On a 3-bedroom boat with 12 guests, that is about ₹420 each. The Premium surcharge is per boat, not per guest.

House rules for groups
Houseboats do not cruise after dark, so the boat moors for the evening and the group has the deck until morning. Meals are cooked fresh on board from a fixed Kerala menu; tell us about vegetarians and allergies before you arrive and the cook plans for them. The full menu is on our houseboat food menu page.
Day trip for a group
If the group is not staying the night, the 6-hour day cruise runs from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM on the same boats. For a shorter outing, a private shikara takes up to 15 guests for one flat price: ₹2,000 for 2 hours through the village canals.

One person books for everyone. Send the date, the number of adults and children, and whether people want to share rooms two or four to a bedroom. We confirm the boat and the exact price for your date, a 25% advance reserves it, and the balance is paid at check-in at Punnamada.
