Houseboat Booking and Cancellation Policy
How a houseboat booking with MYALLEPPEY.COM works: 25% advance, balance at check-in, the refund rules if you cancel, children and extra guests.
This is our houseboat booking policy in plain language: how a booking is made and confirmed, what you pay and when, what happens if you cancel, and the rules for children, extra guests and holiday dates. Who you are booking with
MYALLEPPEY.COM is based at Punnamada Finishing Point in Alleppey. We check availability, confirm the price for your dates and group in writing, take the advance and meet you at the jetty.
How to book
- Send your date, the number of adults and children, and the boat you want on WhatsApp, by phone or by email.
- We confirm availability and the exact price for your nights in writing.
- You pay the advance: 25% for a houseboat, ₹1,000 for a shikara. The booking is confirmed once the advance is paid and you have our written confirmation.
- On the day, you pay the balance at check-in at the jetty and board.
Prices on the website are calculated for the dates and group you enter, and the final price is always confirmed in writing before you pay.
Cancellations and refunds
Cancellation terms can differ by boat and by package, and the terms that apply to your booking are stated before you confirm it. As a general rule:
- 30 days or more before arrival: full refund
- 7 to 29 days before arrival: 50% refund
- Less than 7 days before arrival: no refund
MYALLEPPEY.COM service fees are not refundable once a booking is confirmed. Refunds, where they apply, are processed within 7 to 10 business days.
Children and extra guests
- The boat price covers 2 guests per bedroom.
- Each bedroom takes up to 4 guests; each guest beyond the first two is ₹750 a night.
- Children up to 5 years stay free. From 5 years, children count as guests, at the same ₹750 as an adult when they are above the included number.
Prices that change by date
Every night is priced on its own date. Weekend nights cost 10% more. Festival windows cost 20 to 60% more on the boat price, and the busiest is 20 December to 10 January. From 15 June to 30 August the off-season rate applies. The best time for a houseboat page lists every window, and the Christmas and New Year page shows holiday prices for each boat.
On the day
- Overnight stays check in at 12:00 PM and check out at 9:00 AM the next day.
- Day cruises run from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM; night stays board at 5:30 PM.
- Houseboats do not cruise after dark. The boat moors for the night and sets off again in the morning.
- Meals are cooked on board from a fixed menu. Tell us about vegetarian meals or allergies before you arrive.
